Mountain View Eye Center is a progressive, full-service ophthalmic medical and surgical practice located in the heart of Fairbanks, Alaska. We are currently seeking a Medical Optometrist to join our collaborative, patient-focused team. You’ll work side-by-side with ophthalmologists in a modern clinical environment, practicing to the full scope of your licensure. What You’ll Do
Provide comprehensive optometric services to a diverse patient population.
Collaborate with our ophthalmologists to co-manage surgical and medical patients.
Evaluate and manage a wide range of ocular conditions, including:
o Post-operative care
o Glaucoma
o Anterior/posterior segment disease
o Ocular trauma
o Neuro-ophthalmic disorders
Conduct thorough medical histories and develop personalized treatment plans.
Educate patients on diagnosis, treatment options, and preventative care.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree.
Eligibility for Alaska State Optometry licensure.
1–2+ years of medical optometry experience, or successful completion of an ACOE-accredited residency program.
Previous experience in a medically focused setting is strongly preferred.
