Description

Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute, a principle-centered multi-site cataract and refractive surgery co-management center, seeks a full-time medical optometric physician for our surgical facility in Tacoma, WA, 35 miles south of Seattle. PCLI has 18 surgery facilities located in 6 states – Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, Alaska, and New Mexico. In this position, you will be based and work 50% of the time in our Tacoma office with the other 50% providing fill-in coverage at our other Western Washington facilities. You will also provide occasional fill-in coverage elsewhere that will include some overnight stays. Join our dynamic team in a place where your career can thrive. Company-wide, PCLI provides a unique work environment with a strong team approach between 40+ staff ODs and 17 surgeons. We do not provide primary care, vision exams, contact lenses, or eyeglasses. Instead, we support community ODs with cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and medical consults. Our ODs can also perform advanced optometric procedures, practicing at the highest level of their training.

Requirements

• Clinically skilled and residency trained, or the equivalent ocular disease and surgical co-management experience
• Solid leadership skills with a passion for helping others
• Highly motivated and a self-starter who will expand our presence
• An excellent communicator who enjoys working with a team
• In addition to having exceptional clinical skills, job duties include lecturing within the optometric community and involvement with professional organizations.
